the 5 most influencing women right now

There are days where I have this moment of realization, where I start to reflect on my journey and growth of the past years. I think about the road I have been walking for quite some time and what, or who, got me there. That ‘who’-part is something that I will talk about, especially, in this article. Which people have helped me getting to the point in my life where I am, right now, mentally and physically? Who inspires me or has changed my life?

I sat down and write down five women who I believe have had and are still having the most impact on me and I tried to discover why, precisely. It was a bit hard, but I got it now. Read on to read the result.

The 5 women:

  • Michelle Obama
  • Lauren Jauregui
  • Demi Lovato
  • Emma Watson
  • Me (yes, I know you are thinking: huh? But trust me, read on)

Michelle Obama

She has also written a book which is out now!

I know, I know, many of you might know her as ‘just’ the formal First Lady of the United States of America, but hear me out. Michelle Obama is one of my biggest influencers because she built her platform herself. She studied pretty darn hard and she has had difficult times, but even after all her hard work and dedication, she is so incredibly humble and down-to-earth. She might have gotten some help by being Barack Obama’s wife, but nevertheless, she could’ve stopped with speaking up, making sure people know what is going on and inspiring others after his presidency, but no, she didn’t. She is still traveling the country and talking to people, especially young adults.

So why does Michelle Obama inspire me? Because she is a hard working female who has made her own platform but has still remained humble, down-to-earth and good-hearted. I think that is such an admirable thing that not too many people have, but should have.

Lauren Jauregui

Preach, Lauren!

Solo-artist Lauren Jauregui has a certain spirit which is rare nowadays, in the music industry. You might not know her very well, but she is a rising star who is to be admired by many. Jauregui is a singer-songwriter, but that is not the only quality she has: in the past years, she has openly spoken up about politics, human rights and the LGBTQ-community. She has many people criticizing every single move she makes, but still continues to be honest about her thoughts & feelings.

I admire & am inspired by Lauren Jauregui because she reminds me daily of the fact that I have to be honest to myself and others and be interested in the world around me. Jauregui is also the reason I started reading intensively again and for that, I am so grateful because it has opened my world again.

Demi Lovato

You probably recognize this name, right? Confident, Solo and Tell me you love me are just a few examples of her greatest hits. But besides her amazing vocals and genius lyrics, she has many other things to say that inspire us. Lovato has been so outspoken about mental health and self-confidence, it is almost impossible to not have read her name, somewhere. Demi talks about her own struggles with mental health and body positivity but also encourages all her followers & the people around her to do the same.

Demi Lovato helps and influences me because she is teaching me it is okay to be whoever I am. Whatever my feelings are, I am worthy of living the best possible life and no matter how my body looks, it is beautiful. She has also taught me speaking out is important when it comes to living an honest life.

Emma Watson

Join her book club!

I am pretty sure you know this name. From Harry Potter to Beauty and the Beast to having a bookclub, Emma Watson really is that woman. Who does it all. But that ‘all’ are only the things she really wants to do. That is what I admire the most about Emma Watson. She is not the ‘basic girl’, whatever that may mean. She is open about her hobbies, even if some people don’t like it. She encourages everyone to be their true selves, even if, I said it before, some people won’t appreciate it. And with that, I don’t mean becoming a serial killer at once, but not being afraid to open your mouth to defend your own or someone else’s opinion is not the worst quality to have.

Because of her inspiring me to love what I want to love and to speak up about important issues, Emma Watson is a woman who definitely has a big impact on me.

Me

When ‘me‘ came into my mind when I was thinking about women who inspire me, I declared myself crazy, at first. I literally was silent for a moment and really let my brain work. Then I started to understand: this thought wasn’t selfish at all, it was the truth. When I say I am one of my biggest influencers, I don’t mean: ‘I am a genius, I am brilliant and fabulous’. I mean the fact that after everything, I am still here. I have been through tough times, but I turned out to be more tough. I mean I am stronger than I was a year ago and I’ll continue to grow stronger every day. With ‘I am one of my biggest influencers’, I mean I inspire myself to get up every day. I think back of every day that was a good day because I got up and with that motivation, I live my day. I grow because I know I’ve grown in the past and I can do it again. I need to do it again.

Okay, cliché talk is over now. But I am not joking or being not serious. I mean it. I hope you genuinely understand what I mean when I say I am one of my biggest influencers. And it is important to know: you should place yourself on this list, too.

Do you share my opinion? Or do you have other women who inspire you a lot? Let me know in the comments or send me a message

I do want to mention one last thing: there are male who inspire me, as well, but I wanted to focus on women in this article, especially because I think it is important to see how women also affect one’s life. Not only male can do that.

If you have any suggestions or questions, let me know and I hope you enjoyed this article!
